Race 3 -1/15/04 1000 Race Course 6 - 6.23nm A light wind of the north at 8-10 knots with flat water set the fleet off with a good start.  Jupiter and Thunder quickly pulled away from the fleet, their light weight giving them the definite advantage in the light winds.

Race 4 -1/15/04 1330 Race Course 2 - 2.30nm The wind varied in wind strength between 5 knots and nothing, with nothing being the dominate wind speed.  When there was wind it often came from opposite directions, first from the South then North, then West.  It was strange to see the fleet going the same direction on different tacks only few hundred yards apart with wind apparently coming from completely different directions. Luck and ability to make the most of the little puffs and a lot of patients were needed for this race. Jupiter had a bit of both, making it around the turning mark first and left the rest of the fleet fighting to make it to the turning mark for what seemed an eternity.  After sitting motionless 100 yards from the turning mark for more that ten minutes it crossed everyone's mind that we may need to be towed in, but just as we were about to give up a light wind allowed the fleet to creep home ever so slowly.
