Race 5 -1/22/04 1000 Race Course 6 - 6.23nm A light wind of the North West at 8-10 knots with waves left over from the stronger overnight winds slowing the fleet was the setting for the start of the race. Again Jupiter and Thunder quickly pulled away from the fleet, their light weight giving them the definite advantage in the light winds. The wind quickly dropped down below 5 knots and varied in wind strength from 2-5 knots. Making it around the upwind NW turning mark became the challenge taking over an hour for some of the boats. The gradually dropped to flat calm just as the last boat returned ever so slowly to their mooring.
Race 6 - Postponed until the next race day - The second race of the day was cancelled due to lack of wind.
